down and feathers

Down is a natural insulating material with a unique ability to retain warmth and wick moisture. The quality of down is measured by its loft, often called fill power, where a higher value indicates better resilience and insulating capability in relation to weight.

Following the care instructions for your down garments is essential to maintaining their performance, insulating ability, and lifespan. Incorrect washing can damage the down, causing its thermal insulating properties to deteriorate.

wash and care

Washing process:

When washing down garments, it is important to follow the specific care instructions on the label, but generally you can follow these guidelines:

• Machine wash at 40°C on a gentle cycle suitable for delicate fabrics. Avoid both bleach and fabric softener.

Drying process:

• Tumble dry on low heat together with two clean dryer balls until the garment is completely dry. The balls help to evenly distribute the down and maintain its loft. The garment should not be dry cleaned.
