WOOL

Wool is a natural, renewable, and biodegradable fiber. It has unique properties that make it warming, temperature-regulating, moisture-wicking, dirt-repellent, and fire-resistant. The wool fiber is elastic, pliable, and does not wrinkle.

Following the care instructions for wool products is important to preserve the garment’s lifespan, function, and quality. Wool is a delicate material that can shrink and lose its elasticity and shape if washed too hot, washed too often, or treated with the wrong products, such as fabric softener.

wash and care

Washing process:

• Wash as seldom as possible. Wool is self-cleaning, so air out the garment instead of washing it after every use.
• Use wool detergent if possible. A gentle detergent made specifically for wool helps preserve its natural properties, such as lanolin.
• Hand washing is the gentlest method. Soak the garment in cold to lukewarm water and gently press out the water rather than wringing it.
• For machine washing: use the lowest possible temperature and spin at the lowest speed. Make sure not to fill the washing machine more than halfway.
• Do not use bleach.

Drying process:

• It’s important to let the garment dry flat to prevent it from losing its shape or stretching out.
• Avoid tumble drying your wool garment.
