better cotton initiative
BCI™

BCI™ (Better Cotton Initiative) stands at the forefront of promoting responsible cotton production. The cotton is grown using more sustainable methods, including reduced water consumption, fewer pesticides, and better working conditions for the farmers. Certified through the Better Cotton Initiative, one of the world's largest cotton sustainability programmes, BCI Cotton is sourced and tracked via a mass balance system, meaning certified and conventional cotton are traded along the same supply chain, but volumes are recorded to ensure that each unit purchased corresponds to an equivalent amount of Better Cotton grown at farm level. The initiative operates across more than 20 countries, training farmers in water stewardship, soil health, and the responsible use of crop protection chemicals, resulting in a measurable reduction in environmental impact compared to conventional cotton production.
